Outside of the fascinating movies that the entertainment industry provides us with, it is also about the journey of its dwellers that inspires us in several ways. We know one such person whose work we have discerned and appreciated, but haven’t heard much about his journey. Vedd Rawtaani is the brainbox we are talking about. He is prominent as a director and much of his work has earned several awards.
But before becoming a flourishing director, Vedd Rawtaani started his journey as a cinematographer. During his early years, he explored the world of cameras and shot shots with a Handycam. Growing up in the city of dreams, Mumbai, Vedd Rawtaani was invariably influenced by Bollywood. This fascination with movies and creativity pressed him to come up with a film of his own. Shot only with his Handycam, Vedd Rawtaani shot the film ‘Memories’, portraying drug abuse and its long-term effects.
This film garnered tons of appreciation. The Narcotics Department of Mumbai chose to show this film at educational institutions. In a very short period of time, Vedd Rawtaani’s short film ‘In Your Arms’ received approximately 4 million views on YouTube. He then also worked with Anuj Dhawan to write and film the short film ‘Two Faced’ at the age of 17 years. Vedd’s sheer dedication brought him to the threshold of the most prestigious award show in Bollywood: the DadaSaheb Phalke Award Show.
Vedd Rawtaani has been to the prestigious Whistling Woods and completed his graduation in film-making. He then turned solely to directing movies. His film ‘Pyaar On The Rocks’ was particularly appreciated. Vedd Rawtaani has also directed movies like ‘Uncle On The Rocks’ and ‘Ek Tha Raja’. It’s all about the intensity of commitment one gives towards his passion, and this young director was exceptionally devoted to the entertainment world.
He has directed more than 25 notable TV commercials. Vedd Rawtaani’s recent direction of a rom-com series, ‘Suraj Aur Saanjh’, was awarded ‘Comedy Series of the Year’. He has also edited a promo for the Bollywood movie ‘Gully Boy’. He has proven his love for the entertainment world from time-to-time.
