Parth Samthaan, who recently portrayed ACP Ayushmaan in CID 2, revealed an unusual fan encounter that left him both surprised and concerned. In a candid conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their podcast, the actor shared that a fan once messaged him on Instagram, asking him to solve her mother’s murder.
“You’re My Last Hope” – Fan’s Emotional Plea
“Bahot log iss show ko seriously lete hai (Many people take this show seriously),” Parth said. “I received a DM saying, ‘I feel only you can crack my mom’s murder case. Give me your number, you are my last hope.'” The message proved how much fans identified with his character on screen, even though Parth’s ACP Ayushmaan was on screen for a few weeks only.

Hesitation and Difficulty in Accepting the Role
In a previous interview with Hindustan Times, Parth confessed he had turned down the role initially. “I don’t relate to it,” he affirmed. He was also apprehensive because the show’s experienced cast would need to call him “sir,” which made him uncomfortable. On reconsideration, he agreed to take the role but found himself facing stern criticism.

Dealing with Trolls and Respecting a Legacy
Parth recognized the difficulty in filling in for a favorite character such as ACP Pradyuman, who was initially portrayed by Shivaji Satam. “It’s not that easy to replace a legend. I didn’t anticipate trolling to this level,” he told India Forums. “Even I have been Shivaji Sir’s fan. If I were in the audience’s position, I’d be feeling the same way probably.”
Despite the criticism, Parth appreciated the opportunity to work alongside Shivaji Satam, praising his dedication and energy even at 75.
