It was a sad day for actress Mannara Chopra and her family when they lost her father, attorney Raman Rai Handa, on June 16, 2025, in Mumbai. He was 72 years old. Raman Handa, who was a practicing lawyer at the Delhi High Court, was also the paternal uncle of Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra.
Mannara Spotted at Airport After Father’s Demise
Soon after the news surfaced, Mannara Chopra was spotted at what seemed to be an airport, clearly distressed and tearful. Wearing a parrot green kurta and jeans, she was attempting to make a call while juggling her bags. Her sister, Mitali Handa, stood beside her, sporting a white tee and black pants. The scene was caught on camera in a clip posted by Instant Bollywood.

Fans Provide Condolences and Criticize Paparazzi
Fans soon flooded social media with their words of support for Mannara as she underwent this challenging period. Comments such as “Stay strong, my girl” and “Our deepest condolences to the entire family” poured in. Many others, though, criticized the paparazzi for intruding on her privacy at this vulnerable time, terming their behavior as “shameful” and “insensitive.”

Family Statement and Funeral Arrangements
Mannara posted on Instagram, confirming the tragic news, writing, “With deep grief and sorrow, we are announcing the sorrowful death of our dearest father, who passed away to his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the backbone of our family.”

Raman Rai Handa leaves behind his wife, Kamini Chopra Handa, and daughters Mannara and Mitali. The cremation will be held on June 18 at 1 PM at the Crematorium Ground in Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai. He was ill for the last few days and passed away with his family around him.
