Odela 2 Crashes and Burns: 30% Drop on Day 2, Disaster Verdict Almost Certain

Tamannaah Bhatia’s latest Telugu supernatural thriller, Odela 2, has failed to cast any magic at the Indian box office. Despite being a sequel to Odela Railway Station (2022), the film opened to minimal expectations and has delivered a lackluster performance in its initial days.

Poor Opening Despite Sequel Advantage

Directed by Ashok Teja, Odela 2 hit theatres on April 17 and was expected to at least benefit from its franchise appeal. However, the film couldn’t even manage a ₹2 crore collection in its first two days. With mixed reviews and little pre-release buzz, footfalls remained low, and the sequel tag couldn’t save it from sinking early.

Day 2 Occupancy and Collection

The film’s performance on day 2 was even weaker than its opening day. It started with just 14% occupancy in morning shows, saw a slight uptick to 18% in the afternoon, but dipped again to 15% in the evening and 17% at night. Despite the Good Friday holiday, Odela 2 managed to earn only ₹59 lakh, showing a 30.58% drop from day 1’s ₹85 lakh.

Box Office Verdict: A Disaster in the Making

With a total of ₹1.44 crore net at the Indian box office in two days, the film is heading towards a disastrous extended weekend, expected to wrap up below ₹3 crore. This is especially worrying considering the film’s reported budget of ₹24 crore — meaning it has recovered just 6% of its production cost so far.

If the trend continues, Odela 2 may go down as one of the year’s biggest box office flops, despite Tamannaah Bhatia’s star power
