Superman Soars High: James Gunn’s Film Sells 55,000 Tickets in Advance Booking, Promises a Strong Start

Hollywood continues to soar at the Indian box office in 2025. Following the success of Final Destination: Bloodlines, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, F1, and Jurassic World: Rebirth, another major American release, Superman, is now ready to hit Indian theaters on July 11.

Solid Advance Bookings Across National Chains

Directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Superman has recorded impressive advance bookings. The film has already sold over 55,000 tickets across top multiplex chains PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis for its opening day. A significant majority of these sales came from PVR Inox, indicating strong urban interest.

While it trails just behind Jurassic World: Rebirth in pre-sales, Superman is still poised for a strong start, supported by the character’s established fan base and Gunn’s global reputation.

Box Office Expectations and Fan Buzz

With current trends and pre-release excitement, Superman is expected to open with a net collection of Rs. 8 crore to Rs. 9 crore in India. However, its final day-one performance will largely depend on walk-in audience and spot bookings. Positive word-of-mouth could help the film sustain momentum and strengthen Hollywood’s winning streak in India.

Clashing Releases: Three Genres, One Friday

Superman will share its release date with two Indian films Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor’s romantic drama Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan and Rajkummar Rao’s action-packed Maalik. Given the genre variety, all three films may co-exist peacefully, though box office supremacy will depend on content and audience reception.
