Building Success! A Minecraft Movie Becomes April Standout with Impressive Box Office Numbers

A Minecraft Movie continued its box office dominance on April 14, holding firm at the top spot with an impressive USD 5 million on its second Monday. This marks the fourth-biggest second Monday for an April release, trailing only behind monumental hits like Endgame and Infinity War. Despite a 49.6% drop from the previous Monday, the film’s remarkable performance positions it to surpass USD 300 million by Thursday, with final domestic earnings projected between USD 440 million and USD 470 million.

Huge Success and Global Impact
Released on April 4, A Minecraft Movie has already grossed USD 283.9 million domestically, further solidifying its status as a major hit. The film, based on the popular 2011 video game by Mojang Studios, blends adventure, comedy, and fantasy. Directed by Jared Hess, the movie stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Hansen. It follows four misfits who get trapped in a cubic world and must rely on the help of an expert crafter, Steve, to return home.

While Minecraft Movie received mixed critical reviews after its March 30 London premiere, audiences worldwide have embraced it wholeheartedly. With global earnings surpassing USD 550 million within two weeks, it is now the second-highest-grossing video game adaptation ever and the top-grossing Hollywood film of 2025.
