Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Update: 48% Drop on Day 4 – Will Aamir Khan’s Magic Work Again?

Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated sports-comedy drama, Sitaare Zameen Par has wrapped up its opening weekend on a high, emerging as the audience’s top pick. The film has managed to outshine Housefull 5 and is currently leading the box office race. While Raid 2 nears the end of its theatrical run, Sitaare Zameen Par and Housefull 5 are now in direct competition for the top spot.

Monday Dip, But No Major Concern
On Day 4 (Monday), Sitaare Zameen Par registered a morning occupancy of 8.73%, marking a 48% drop from Day 1’s 16.74%. Although this may seem concerning at first glance, the trend mirrors what happened on the first Saturday, when the film also experienced a dip in the morning but saw strong recovery in the second half of the day. A similar bounce is expected today, especially with spot bookings likely to increase during the afternoon and evening shows.

Morning Occupancy Trends:
Day 1: 16.74%

Day 2: 13%

Day 3: 25.68%

Day 4: 8.73%

Despite the Monday lull, the film continues to perform better than Housefull 5, which saw a 6.58% morning occupancy on its third Monday. The margin isn’t massive, but Aamir Khan’s film is clearly ahead.

Ticket Sales Hold Steady
Sitaare Zameen Par sold approximately 36,000 tickets on Day 4 by 2 PM, a 32% drop from its opening day sales of 53,000 tickets. Given it’s a working Monday, the dip is routine. With positive word-of-mouth and limited competition at the ticket windows, the film is expected to remain stable through the weekdays.

All eyes are now on its evening performance, which will determine if the film continues its winning streak.
