Aamir Khan’s recent release Sitaare Zameen Par, which is helmed by R.S. Prasanna, has started its run in theatres on a good note. By 4 PM on day one, the film has garnered an estimated ₹3–4 crore, which lays the groundwork for a decent day-one figure. Trade experts are looking forward to the film, riding high on word-of-mouth, developing a big jump in night shows collections and perhaps posting a double-digit opening.
Better Start Than Laal Singh Chaddha
Compared to Aamir’s last venture Laal Singh Chaddha, which opened at a meager 11.1% morning show occupancy, Sitaare Zameen Par has done much better with its morning occupancy standing at 16.74% — almost 50.5% more. That is a great comeback for the actor and suggests far more audience interaction this time.
