Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh starrer Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, has wrapped up its first week on a positive note at the Indian box office. The emotional drama collected Rs 6.50 crore net on its first Thursday, bringing its total Week 1 earnings to Rs 87.50 crore. For a film that opened with Rs 10.50 crore on Day 1, this steady upward trajectory is a promising sign for the makers.

Week 1 India Net Box Office Collection Breakdown:

Day 1: Rs 10.50 crore

Day 2: Rs 20 crore

Day 3: Rs 26.25 crore

Day 4: Rs 8.50 crore

Day 5: Rs 8.50 crore

Day 6: Rs 7.25 crore

Day 7: Rs 6.50 crore

Total: Rs 87.50 crore net

The film trended impressively over its opening weekend and is expected to continue drawing audiences in its second week, despite new releases such as Maa, F1, and Kannappa. Industry estimates suggest that Sitaare Zameen Par could pull in Rs 26–33 crore in its second weekend. If it hits the upper end of that range, it will record the second-best second weekend for a Bollywood film in 2025, just behind Chhaava.

The second weekend will be pivotal in determining the film’s lifetime earnings. A Rs 26 crore weekend puts it on track for a Rs 150 crore finish, while Rs 33 crore could push it past Rs 170 crore.

While the film has universal appeal, its primary strength lies in metro cities, as mass centres have slowed. Internationally, it is poised to cross the USD 6 million mark by the end of its second weekend, signaling strong overseas performance as well.
