Kim Seokjin, widely known as Jin from BTS, is making waves with his solo journey. After completing his military service in June last year, Jin released his debut solo album Happy, followed by his highly acclaimed second album Echojust six months later. The new album has catapulted him to greater global recognition, marking several major career milestones.
‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ Wins on M Countdown
The title track from Echo, Don’t Say You Love Me, has earned Jin his first-ever solo win on a major Korean music show. On the May 29 episode of M Countdown on Mnet, Jin’s track triumphed over RIIZE’s Fly Up with an impressive 7,669 points. The win is significant, considering the strong competition from acts like SEVENTEEN, Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi, (G)I-DLE, and more.
Global Success: No. 1 on UK Official Chart
Jin’s success isn’t confined to Korea. Don’t Say You Love Me also debuted at No. 1 on the UK’s Official Chart, surpassing major international releases including What The Hell Just Happened by Remember Monday, Ed Sheeran’s Aziza, and All I Ever Asked by Rachel Chinouriri. This achievement further solidifies his position as a successful solo artist.
