Coldplay’s concert in South Korea turned heads both because of their fabulous setlist, and also for a warm heartwarming surprise visit by BTS member Jin, who brightened up the stage with his comeback.
Jin’s Comeback is a Full Circle Experience
Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres world tour saw the band performing in South Korea in front of a huge audience. But the center of attention was clearly Jin’s surprise visit. Back on the stage after his military stint, Jin held up a sign that said, “Pick me, please. Can I sing The Astronaut with you?
“The instant Chris Martin spotted it, he went down on knees on stage in respect an action that Jin followed, garnering thunderous applause from the crowd.
Emotional Message and Iconic Duets
Jin sang “The Astronaut” and “My Universe” with Chris Martin, and the performance became viral immediately. Fans worldwide commended the chemistry and tender performance of the duo. In a message to the audience, Jin had an emotional statement: “Before I entered the military, my last stage was Coldplay’s. Now, my first concert after being discharged is also Coldplay’s.”

In a humorous moment, Chris Martin declared, “We are Coldplay, the world’s second-best band. BTS can be number 1, I think!” to which Jin modestly said, “Oh no! I don’t think so.”
A Bond That Goes Back Years
Jin and Coldplay have not performed together since 2022 for “The Astronaut,” a track Chris assisted in co-writing. Their initial collaboration was the worldwide hit “My Universe” in 2021, which included the entire BTS lineup.
