The Face of KISS: Nick Jonas to Play Iconic Frontman Paul Stanley in Upcoming Biopic

Pop star and actor Nick Jonas is reportedly in final talks to portray Paul Stanley, the legendary frontman of rock band KISS, in an upcoming biopic titled Shout It Out Loud. The film, set to be directed by McG, will chronicle the iconic band’s early years and meteoric rise to fame.

Exploring KISS’s Origins

The biopic will focus on the band’s formative years, starting in the early 1970s and culminating around their legendary 1975 Cadillac High concert in Michigan. According to longtime KISS manager Doc McGhee, the story will spotlight the band’s struggles, the cultural landscape of the ’60s and ’70s, and how those influences shaped KISS’s groundbreaking sound and image.

“The script is completely done,” McGhee shared in a 2021 interview. “It’s about the first four years of KISS, before they became famous… it’s a very interesting and well-written movie.”

Stanley and Simmons On Board as Producers

Both Paul Stanley and bassist Gene Simmons are involved in the project as producers, ensuring the film remains authentic to the band’s legacy. The group is also actively participating in its development.

Stanley previously confirmed the film’s progress and praised the script. While discussing casting, he noted that actors in their early 20s would be considered to reflect the band’s youthful energy during their early days. Though unfamiliar with many younger actors, Stanley expressed interest in how casting choices might reflect others’ perceptions of him.
