Miley Cyrus has opened up about a funny and surprising memory from her Hannah Montana days, revealing that her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, once smoked pot backstage and she got blamed for it.
Backstage Mishap: Miley Took the Fall
Speaking on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus’ podcast Sorry We’re Cyrus, Miley was asked to share her funniest moment from her time on the hit Disney series, which aired from 2006 to 2011. Without hesitation, Miley responded: “Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it. It’s hilarious… He wasn’t sharing ’cause Tish wasn’t toking yet.”
Tish recalled the incident, admitting she had defended Billy Ray at the time and believed someone else was at fault. “They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying: ‘Absolutely not, he would never do that. It’s Mitchel Musso!’” she said.
Miley cheekily added, “Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.”

Mitchel Musso Responds with a Twist
Musso, who played Oliver on Hannah Montana, had a different take. In a statement to E! News, he said: “Well, that’s not how I remember it. However, I’ve got plenty of stories from those years. Just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam even when the rewrites get this creative.”

Instagram Unfollow Drama Debunked
Miley also addressed rumors of a family feud after fans noticed Tish had unfollowed her on Instagram just after Miley visited Billy Ray. “It was a bug,” Miley clarified. “Meta automatically unfollows the person you engage with the most.” Laughing, she joked, “I thought Mom lost her glasses.”
The Hannah Montana days may be long gone, but the stories certainly live on.
