What Tahira Kashyap just shared about her Cancer battle will move you to tears – And it has special connection to Bollywood stars

Author-filmmaker Tahira Kashyap, wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, recently opened up about a deeply personal journey her breast cancer relapse after seven years. In a heartfelt yet humorous post, she chronicled her latest hospital visit with a unique musical spin, blending her signature wit with vulnerability.

“Hospitals and Music Are Deeply Connected”

On Friday, April 11, Tahira shared a series of Instagram slides capturing her day at the hospital for scanning and imaging. Captioning it, “Hospitals and music are deeply and surgically connected! #HospitalChronicles,” she invited her followers to read each part while imagining the accompanying song.

In the first slide, she described how her doctor lightened the mood by playing Shah Rukh Khan’s emotional anthem Kal Ho Naa Ho as she lay down before surgery. Although touched, she humorously admitted asking him to stop the song.

Wit in the OT

The second slide offered a glimpse into her time in the operation theatre. As tools were being prepped, her anesthesiologist asked her what song she’d like before going under. Looking at the surgical tools, the only tune playing in her head was the intense Chakku Chhuriyan Tez Kara Lo from Zanjeer, showcasing her signature humor even in a serious moment.

Post-Surgery Revelations

In the third slide, Tahira shared a light-hearted moment post-surgery, where she met a spirited 70-year-old patient listening to gossip about an actor’s love life. The woman, inspired by the drama, jokingly declared she too could make waves. Tahira noted, “I always knew the power of cinema both on and off the screen!”

On the Work Front

Tahira Kashyap made her directorial debut with Sharmajee Ki Beti on Prime Video, a slice-of-life film that resonated with audiences for its honesty and heart.
