In a recent candid interview on the Magic Moments YouTube channel, former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu shared a nostalgic memory of meeting a young Shah Rukh Khan in Lucknow—long before his move to Mumbai and rise to superstardom.

“Are You Out of Your Mind?”: Sidhu’s Advice to Young SRK

Sidhu recalled how SRK approached him as a fan, expressing admiration. “He said, ‘Sir, I am a huge fan’. I told him, ‘We watch you every day on Fauji and Circus’,” Sidhu shared. When SRK revealed his plans to move to Bollywood, Sidhu tried to dissuade him, saying, “Teri mat maari gayi hai? You need support in the film industry. Your parents aren’t there—you just told me.”

SRK’s Response: “I Am My Own Competition”

Despite the warning, SRK remained confident. Sidhu recounted, “He told me, ‘Sidhu saab, I will manage.’” When Sidhu warned about the cutthroat nature of the industry, saying they would “eat him like a sausage for breakfast,” SRK calmly replied, “I don’t compete with anyone. I am my own competition.”

Sidhu praised Shah Rukh’s enduring humility and self-assurance, saying, “He’s just as polite today. Abhishek Bachchan even said, ‘He’s the only guy who is not insecure.’”
