Bollywood’s favorite Raj, Shah Rukh Khan, recently dropped in with a heartwarming surprise visit to the rehearsals of Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical in London. The cast, already lost in the retro world of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, was left starstruck when the original Raj sauntered in in a casual white tee and jeans making a regular rehearsal into a memory of a lifetime.
Directed by Aditya Chopra, who also directed the original 1995 cult classic, the stage production transfers the enchantment of DDLJ to the UK. With new characters and a cross-cultural spin, the musical has Jena Pandya as Simran and Ashley Day as Roger inspired by Kajol’s Simran and SRK’s renowned Raj. The show opens at Manchester Opera House from May 29 to June 21, with a press night on June 4.

Reflecting on the visit, Jena Pandya said, “Meeting Shah Rukh Khan and having him in the rehearsal room was such an honour. Performing some of the scenes he once did was surreal. It’s a memory I’ll cherish forever.”
