Yesterday on the eve of singer-filmmaker Kishore Kumar’s death anniversary, the National Kishore Kumar Award, a prestigious honor was bestowed upon writer-director Rumi Jaffery for his remarkable contributions in the field of Hindi cinema.
RUMI JAFFERY
The Kishore Kumar award instituted by the Madhya Pradesh Government in 1997 is given away for direction, acting, script writing and lyrics every year.
Past recipients of the prestigious award are Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Salim Khan, Gulzar, Shyam Benegal, Javed Akhtar, Dilip Kumar and Yash Chopra.
