The long-awaited sequel to Raid, Raid 2, has created a buzz as Riteish Deshmukh has joined the cast officially. The actor will be playing the character of a politician and adding a new twist to the suspenseful story. The fans of the original film are already curious to know how the new member will be integrated into the action-packed sequel.
First-Look Poster Sparks Excitement
On Tuesday, Ajay Devgn uploaded on Instagram the first-look poster of Riteish Deshmukh’s character in Raid 2. In the poster, Riteish has been placed confidently standing in the center of a crowd, wearing a kurta over a jacket, and raising his hand high while giving a stern look. This photo suggests his strong, authoritative role as a politician. Ajay Devgn captioned the poster, “Kanoon ka mohtaj nahi, kanoon ka malik hai Dada Bhai! ????,” which means, “Not in need of the law, but the owner of the law.” Riteish also posted the poster on his Instagram, generating more buzz. The fans soon showed their excitement, with comments such as, “Awesome look sir. It’s going haywire,” and “Can’t wait to see THIS face-off ???? Ajay vs Riteish ????,” demonstrating their high expectations for the face-off between these two actors.

Raid 2 To Take Off from the Success of its Predecessor Raid (2018), based on a real-life income-tax raid in the 1980s, was a huge box-office hit. Ajay Devgn portrayed a straightforward IRS officer, Amay Patnaik, who raids a powerful man in Lucknow. The movie also featured Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in major roles and gained good reviews. Raid 2 is set to feature even more intense drama and action at stake, with Vaani Kapoor featuring along with Ajay and Riteish.
The film was initially scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, but has now been pushed to May 1, 2025. The fans are now waiting impatiently for the days to tick by until the sequel is released in cinemas.
