Television and OTT star Ravi Dubey is set to make a powerful leap into Bollywood with his role as Lakshman in Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated epic, Ramayana. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and is backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

Ravi recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the film’s set, featuring director Nitesh Tiwari and Ranbir Kapoor. Though dressed casually, the trio stood on artificial grass with a blue screen in the background, hinting at the film’s grand scale and heavy VFX work. The photo appears to mark the wrap of Ramayana Part 1.
Fans flooded the comments with excitement. “Can’t wait to see you as Lakshman,” one wrote, while another added, “Wishing you good luck for your next project!”

“Playing Lakshman Is an Honor” – Ravi Dubey
In a previous interview with Connect Cine, Ravi shared his feelings about portraying Lakshman:
“Playing Lakshman is an honor and a responsibility. His devotion to Ram and his values are qualities I deeply admire. This is a role I hold close to my heart.”
He also praised his co-star, saying, “Ranbir is like the elder brother I never had. He’s warm, kind, and the most immaculate professional I’ve ever met.”

A Visual Spectacle in the Making
Ramayana is being filmed for IMAX and will feature visual effects by the Oscar-winning studio DNEG. Part 1 is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, with Part 2 following in Diwali 2027. With an ensemble cast and ambitious scale, this retelling of the epic is one of the most awaited films in Indian cinema.
