Sunjay Kapur tragically passed away earlier this week while in England. Reports revealed that he suffered a fatal heart attack during a polo match after accidentally swallowing a bee, which triggered a severe allergic reaction. Despite receiving immediate medical care, the 53-year-old businessman could not be saved. His sudden demise shocked many, especially as he had posted condolences on social media for the Air India crash in Ahmedabad just hours before his death. One of his last posts read, “Your time on Earth is limited. Leave the ‘what ifs’ to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the ‘why nots’.”

Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a global leader in electric vehicle components. Beyond his business acumen, he was a known polo enthusiast and often participated in matches.
Sunjay was first married to fashion designer Nandita Mahtani, but the marriage ended in 2003. Later that year, he married Karisma Kapoor. The couple had two children, Samaira and Kiaan, before their highly publicized split in 2014. Their divorce was finalized in 2016, after a prolonged legal battle. Karisma was awarded custody of the children, with Sunjay retaining visitation rights.
