It was part of the ‘Silent Picturehouse’ initiative of a leading Airline Company where people put headphones on and watch films on a big screen in a posh and cushy five star environment while munching on their favorite ‘cinema snacks’ and sipping their wine, whiskey, and flavored tea. The whole exercise is aimed at the ‘creme de la creme of high society, the first class travelers of the airlines. The initiative was successfully launched in London in 2010 and is now in India starting with Mumbai that has the ‘greatest cinema industry’ of the world.

The event was organized in a five star hotel at Worli on 18th December, 2013, and the Bollywood producer, director, writer, actor, costumer, TV host, and ‘A+’ list socialite celebrity Karan Johar played the host for the evening. It were his films that were showcased at the event starting with his first KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI and the other ‘travel inspired’ films of his banner Dharma Productions including DOSTANA.
Christopher Fordyce, the Regional Commercial Manager, South Asia, British Airways, thanked Karan Johar for having agreed to be part of this initiative in celebration of the 100 years of Indian cinema. Karan Johar welcomed the initiative and profusely commended the efforts of the British Airways to promote Bollywood films through such events.
