A special video released by the makers on Saturday confirmed Deepika’s entry, showing her discussing the script with Atlee and gearing up for intense action sequences. The caption referred to her as a “queen ready to conquer,” hinting at a powerful role.

Allu Arjun to Play Dual Roles in the Film

Initially rumoured to feature a two-hero storyline, Allu Arjun’s team has since clarified that the actor will instead be seen in a dual role. The film is slated to begin production in mid-2025 and is aiming for a grand theatrical release in 2026.

Controversy Surrounding Deepika’s Exit from ‘Spirit’

Deepika’s casting announcement comes on the heels of a controversy involving director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit, where she was reportedly dropped. According to reports, Deepika’s demands shorter workdays, a high salary, and a share in the profits led to creative disagreements. Vanga took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out Deepika, accusing her of playing “dirty PR games” and breaching trust. He wrote a scathing post, questioning her professionalism and intentions.

Speculation Around ‘Kalki 2’ Exit

However, no official statement has been issued regarding her status in Kalki 2.
