After months of speculation, it’s official Cocktail 2 is set to begin filming this August, bringing a fresh cast and a new take on urban romance. Director Homi Adajania returns to helm the much-anticipated sequel, thirteen years after the original Cocktail hit screens in 2012. This time, the film features a new trio: Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna.

On Friday, stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania — wife of the director shared a sneak peek of the Cocktail 2 script on her Instagram Story, further fueling excitement. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon was spotted at the Maddock Films office, suggesting pre-production is in full swing.
Kriti, Shahid & Rashmika Spark Anticipation
This marks Kriti and Shahid’s second collaboration after their successful romantic sci-fi film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). Rashmika Mandanna’s inclusion adds a refreshing dynamic, and fans are eager to see how the new trio compares to the original cast’s chemistry.
Legacy of the Original Cocktail
The 2012 original starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty and earned acclaim for its music, direction, and Deepika’s breakthrough performance. Cocktail 2 promises to build on that legacy with a modern twist.
