Renowned Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, known for his impactful roles in 3 Idiots, Dangal, and Taare Zameen Par, recently opened up about a deeply personal experience during a candid conversation on Raj Shamani’s podcast. The actor reflected on how his workaholic tendencies and emotional immaturity once led to a painful moment with his ex-wife Kiran Rao.
‘Being a Workaholic Is My Red Flag’
When questioned about red flags in relationships, Aamir readily acknowledged how his workaholism has frequently affected his personal life. He spoke of how, particularly in the early years of his career, he used to be fully immersed in work, regularly closing himself off from everyone else emotionally.
Emotional Shutdown That Left Kiran Rao in Tears
Remembering one particular incident with Kiran Rao, Aamir admitted that during a fight, rather than talk, he emotionally distanced himself altogether, though they were in the same room. He confessed that he did not talk to her for four consecutive days, so much so that Kiran cried.
“Bilkul response nahin kar raha… itna hard… 4th-day raat ko woh mujhse baat karne ki koshish kar rahi thi aur main bilkul jawab nahin de raha tha,” Aamir revealed. “To ek point pe woh rone lagi aur unhone kaha, ‘Mujhe samajh nahin aa raha main kya karun, aap to bilkul respond hee nahin kar rahe ho.'”
A Candid Reflection on Personal Growth
The actor’s candid admission brings out the rarely seen vulnerable, reflective, and remorseful side of Aamir Khan. Through this emotional recollection, he emphasized the significance of emotional communication in relationships, something he confesses learning much later in life.
