Urvashi Rautela made a second appearance on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this year, as usual turning heads with her daring style. Famous for making headlines with her daring outfits, the actress graced the red carpet at the screening of O Agente Secreto (L’Agent Secret/The Secret Agent) at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. But she was cut short from her limelight moment when she had a shocking wardrobe malfunction.

Wardrobe Malfunction Caught on Camera

Urvashi wore a show-stopping black silk taffeta gown by Naja Saade Couture. The ensemble had sheer long sleeves, a crew neck covered over a sweetheart cut plunging neckline, a corseted top, a waist cinched in, and a full pleated skirt that ended in a train. But when she reached to wave at cameramen, a prominent gap beneath her arm drew passersby’s attention and that of online users.

Footage of the moment soon went viral online, and netizens were swift to respond. Social media popular fashion critic page Diet Sabya re-shared the video, remarked sarcastically, “Dekho, gotta respect the hustle. Bichari, I feel bad for her.” A user asked, “Is that a hole there????” Another made a joke on X, “First Indian to have a torn dress at Cannes?”

Styling Amid the Slip-Up

Even though there was a small fashion faux pas, Urvashi finished off her look with a twisted updo hairdo, a bedazzled pink clutch, emerald-cut earrings, and dramatic makeup. The beauty look consisted of a glossy coral-brown lip color, winged eyeliner, eyes lined with kohl, thick lashes, flushed cheeks, and a radiant highlighter.

Although the tear in the gown had perhaps hijacked some of the spotlight, Urvashi Rautela’s gutsy look again meant that she was among the most spoken-about Indian celebrities at Cannes 2025.
