Comedian and reality TV personality Munawar Faruqui took fans by surprise as he walked the red carpet in the company of his wife, Mehzabeen Coatwala, for the premiere of his acting debut show, First Copy. The two got married in a low-key wedding ceremony in Mumbai on May 26 last year, keeping their relationship under wraps until this time. Their warm public appearance at the event on June 19 was greeted with enthusiasm by fans and the media.
In a popular clip from the premiere, Munawar warmly greeted Mehzabeen before posing together with the photographers. With a beaming smile, Mehzabeen accompanied her husband, and their brief yet sweet moment seized the limelight instantly. The moment brought a personal touch to the otherwise glamorous evening, turning it into one of the most discussed highlights of the event.
Stylish Pairing Steals the Show
For his grand night, Munawar chose a dashing green suit, accompanied by a black shirt and colored glasses exuding a confident and young look. Mehzabeen suited him to perfection in an elegant brown floor-length outfit with dramatic sleeves. She finished her appearance with a sleek ponytail and impeccable make-up, emanating elegance and poise.
This was the first time that the couple appeared publicly together, garnering praise for their chemistry and style.
Personal Life and Family
Prior to marrying Mehzabeen, Munawar had been married once before to Jasmine. He has a seven-year-old son, Mikael, from the marriage. Mehzabeen also has a daughter from her first marriage. Though they have kept their multi-racial family life away from the public eye, the public reception of their marriage has been overwhelmingly positive.

Debut with First Copy
First Copy, the web series debut of Munawar, will start streaming on Amazon MX Player from June 20. The series is based in the 1990s and revolves around Arif, who is a street-smart and quick-witted young guy who operates in the dark and seedy world of film piracy. Munawar, who is popular for his reality show and stand-up appearances, called acting a new and refreshing experience.
“It’s a whole new world for me, and I’m genuinely just thankful for the love and support I’ve gotten so far,” he added. The show also features Krystle D’Souza, Gulshan Grover, Saqib Ayub, and others.
With a new show and a public personal achievement, Munawar’s premiere evening was surely a double whammy.
