Kamal Haasan’s film Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam is now among the audience. This film is primarily made in Telugu language but has also been released in Hindi language for Hindi audience. The film Thug Life is a gangster drama film and the story of the film revolves around a gangster named Shakthivel played by Kamal Haasan.

Once a newspaper vendor is murdered by his gang and then Kamal Haasan adopts his son. The daughter of that newspaper vendor gets lost and this boy grows up and becomes a part of Kamal Haasan’s gang. But now that there are gangsters, there will be enemies, and then some more enemies also emerge which take the story of the film forward.

Kamal Haasan’s acting in the film is worth watching. He dominates every frame and he is mostly seen in the film. Kamal Haasan has done great action and the film also has good action. The characters enter the film in a stylish manner. The other actors of the film have also played their characters well. The first half is also fine.

Thug Life is written by Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam and directed by Mani Ratnam. After watching the film, it does not seem that they have written the film because the story is the biggest drawback of the film. It seems that all the emphasis has been put on the treatment and style of the film.

Mani Ratnam has done a good direction according to the story, but overall the film does not leave the impact in terms of the story that was expected. Thug Life is also too long due to which the film seems stretched.

When Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are together, the expectations from the film increase a lot. The same happened with Thug Life. The audience had the same expectations from Thug Life. The trailer had told that this is a gangster drama and you will get style, swag, good cinematography in the film but unfortunately the story of the film turned out to be weak which is the most important. Hence 2.5 stars for the film.
