Even the best stumble sometimes and Shakira just reminded the world why she’s a class act. During her electrifying performance at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, on May 20, the global superstar slipped and fell mid-performance but handled it like the true professional she is.
Grace Under Pressure
While performing her iconic hit Whenever, Wherever as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, Shakira lost her footing and took a tumble in front of thousands. A fan-captured video shared on X (formerly Twitter) shows the 48-year-old dancing with her signature energy just before she fell. But in true Shakira fashion, she got right back up, flashed a smile, and continued performing as if nothing had happened.
The moment quickly went viral, and fans flooded social media with admiration for how gracefully she handled the slip. “But like the Queen that she is, she took the bull by the horns and reacted super well,” one fan wrote. Another added, “She even has class when falling.”

Bouncing Back From Health Scares
Earlier this year, in February, Shakira had to postpone her concerts in Lima, Peru, due to an abdominal health scare. At the time, she shared on Instagram, “I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today,” after being hospitalized overnight.
Despite the setbacks, Shakira continues to inspire fans with her resilience, professionalism, and unwavering stage presence — even when the spotlight catches her off balance.
