Criminal Justice is back and so is everyone’s favourite small-town lawyer with big brains, Madhav Mishra aka Pankaj Tripathi. The trailer for Criminal Justice: A Family Matter just dropped, and things are anything but simple in Madhav’s world. What starts off as a regular defense case takes a wild turn real quick and even Madhav looks stressed (and he’s usually as chill as chai time).
The tagline this season is: “Iss baar sach ke do nahi, teen pehlu hain.” That’s right. This time, there aren’t two sides to the truth… there are three. So basically, nobody knows what’s really going on not even the guy defending everyone! The trailer kicks off with Madhav Mishra (Pankaj Tripathi), getting pulled into yet another murky case, this time by Anju Nagpal, played by Surveen Chawla. She wants his help because her husband, Dr. Raj Nagpal (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub), has been accused of murdering his girlfriend. Madhav, being the sharp-yet-sweet guy he is, tells Raj that he might believe he’s innocent… but convincing the police? That’s a whole other ballgame.
But just when you think things can’t get messier, the plot thickens. Secrets about Raj’s extra affairs tumble out like skeletons from a closet, and in a total shocker, Anju herself gets arrested! Now Madhav us stuck in a courtroom web of lies, love, and betrayal, where even he isn’t sure who’s telling the truth anymore.
Talking about the show, Pankaj Tripathi said in a media statement, “This season of Criminal Justice is more than just a return to the courtroom for Madhav Mishra – it is an intense battle of minds, and he is facing two of his fiercest opponents yet fighting on a case that is multifaceted. Stepping into Madhav Mishra’s shoes and shooting for Criminal Justice is always a learning experience.”
The actor added, “He is such a lovable character and I feel like he has now become my alter-ego. We also have some very talented actors joining us this season who add so much value to the story. I am excited for all my fans to watch the show on JioHotstar.”
