Netflix has released the last trailer for The Electric State, a gripping retro-futuristic action film by the Russo Brothers. Featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, and Ke Huy Quan, the movie takes one to an alternate 1990s universe where a robot revolution has created pandemonium in society.
Set in the aftermath of the robotic revolt, The Electric State follows Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), a young orphan, as she embarks on a journey across the American West to reunite with her missing brother, Chris. Along with a wacky crew of characters, such as Cosmo, a cartoon-style robot, smuggler Keats (Chris Pratt), and his trash-talking robot sidekick Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie), Michelle must battle the ills of a dystopian society. Throughout, they experience violence, secrets, and the strong sense of family.
The cast of characters is brought to life by an impressive collection of talent, led by Brown as Michelle, Pratt as the roguish smuggler Keats, and Ke Huy Quan as Dr. Amherst, who assists Michelle on her mission. Other highlights include Stanley Tucci as Ethan, Giancarlo Esposito as Colonel Marshall Bradbury, and Jason Alexander as Ted. Woody Norman appears as Michelle’s younger brother, Christopher, while the voice cast includes Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and others.
The Electric State is directed by Russell Ackerman, Chris Castaldi, Mike Larocca, Patrick Newall, and the Russo Brothers under the production banners AGBO, Double Dream, and Skybound. With its nostalgic touch of the past and sci-fi narrative, the movie has a lot to offer.
The eagerly awaited movie will be launched on Netflix on March 14, 2025, and viewers can anticipate an action-orientated, emotionally charged odyssey through an awe-inspiring envisioned dystopia.
