After a terrific start that saw SINGHAM RETURNS enjoy the best opening of the year by even going past KICK, the film has settled down now. While 100 crore was surpassed within five days, the film would now be scoring in the range of 140-145 crore. While this is still the highest ever total that an Ajay Devgn film has enjoyed, one wonders whether he was hopeful of 200 crore mark being breached after a terrific start that the film gained.

”Let’s be practical. To achieve a 200 crore mark, you need a good 10-15 day open period. You need holidays like Christmas and Eid taaki aapko 4-5 din continuously holidays mile. Bina uske picture itna lamba distance jaana mushkil hai. No film has managed 200 crore plus without that time period,” says Ajay in a polite, yet firm tone.

Ironically, just as has been the case with many of the Ajay-Rohit affairs, even SINGHAM RETURNS was thrashed by a segment of media with 1.5 or 2 stars coming in.
”Haan, par kya farak padhta hai. It is better naa that we have done well with the audience. Otherwise woh log jin pictures ko four stars dete hain woh chalti kahan hai. Most of them are flop,” quips Ajay before signing off.
