After a dull first day of 5.25-5.50 crore, Shakun Batra’s Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer, EK MAIN AUR EKK TU, picked up substantially on Saturday and netted another 7 -7.50 crore. The domestic weekend is expected to finish in the range of 18-20 crore.

In the overseas, EMAET has performed very well. In the UK, despite inclement weather, the film has grossed an impressive ?67, 465 while Imran Khan’s very own I HATE LUV STORYS and MERI BROTHER KI DULHAN had grossed ?66,300 and ?42,000 respectively. EK MAIN UR EKK TU saw a very good opening in North America grossing $200, 000 while Imran’s DELHI BELLY had $170,000 on day one.

Coming to the Gulf, the first two days (Thursday and Friday) figure is $313,778, and with 12 screens yet to report, it is likely to be Imran’s highest ever in the region. Just for comparison, the two day figures for I HATE LUV STORYS and MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN were $354,000 and $288,000 respectively.
Down under, Australia was strong grossing Aus$ 26,900 while MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN had grossed Aus$20,000, I HATE LUV STORYS had Aus$16,600 and DELHI BELLY grossed Aus$30,000.
Well, we are not at all surprised as most Karan Johar ventures do very well in the overseas and also in the multiplexes of India and this has been confirmed yet again.
